Statement from the President
Dear LGBTQ and Trans Community,Ìý
Â鶹Íø is firm in our support in demonstrating love and respect for you and all members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. We know that current political climate indicators may create additional layers of stress. This is particularly true for our trans and gender expansive folks who have been feeling increased fear around their ability to live authentically in our society. We want you to know that at FC, you belong and we’re here to support you.
Our college has invested intentionally to design and provide services to the LGBTQIA2S+ community for years. We have been offering resources to our trans and nonbinary students, and we have been cultivating more spaces than ever before to ensure you feel secure in pursuing your dreams at Â鶹Íø.
I have been involved in social justice matters for 30 years and I see higher education as a way to arrive at a more just society. Here, at FC, I have personally ensured that we held our first ever pride flag raising. This was important as symbolically our students and future students can easily see that we are here to create an intentionally supportive environment for you.
Our faculty, staff and administration are firmly with you, and we have many resources to share with you on this page.
